JBOn Air - JB

This is the dude who keeps you company on the drive home.

  • Favourite movie: That’s a tough one! The Departed or High Fidelity rate high on my movie scale.
  • Favourite holiday location: Anywhere that’s new always gives me a sense of excitement... Or heading back home to Adelaide. Although, most of the time when I go home it doesn’t end up being a holiday.
  • If you could invite three people to dinner, alive or dead, who would they be? The three girls from The Corrs... but that’s too easy of an answer. Howard Stern, for the toilet humor, Bill Hicks for the more intelligent humor and Neil Armstrong for the exciting tales from his holiday to the moon. Maybe, my original answer of the girls from the Corrs was more exciting?
  • What album is your essential listing? Way too many to choose from! Can I pick the complete back catalogues from Snow Patrol, Dave Matthews Band and David Gray?? What?! I can’t?!
  • You get an ice cream, what do you put on it? Vanilla Icecream and Honey is delicous! Or just plain old Hundreds and Thousands!
  • The best thing about your job? Doing something I’ve wanted to do since I was 10 and something I LOVE doing and hopefully yourself, as a listener, get a smile on your face and enjoyment out of it too. I don’t know how many people can honestly say they love what they do for a living but I can.
  • Your biggest on-air gaffe? I don’t think we have enough space to put all of them. One day I tried saying Thunder Storm Warning and it came out as Thunder Worm Storming – what made it worse was I did that stuff up not once... but twice. Who says we learn from our mistakes!?
  • If I wasn’t working in radio, I’d be doing: I’m a fully qualified technical production technician - that I’d say.
  • If the world was going to end in three minutes, what would you do? Try doing something really risky – either way I’m going to die right??
  • Your party trick? I can fold my tongue back on itself and also make a ‘maple leaf’ out of it. The Canadians love that one.
  • One thing people probably don’t know about you? I’ve worked as a carnie (scaring people for a living is the second best job in the world behind radio!), a hand model (there is a technique to lathering soap on one’s hands) and also on U2’s Vertigo Tour. OK, Now I’m just bragging.
  • Your pet-hate? I can’t remember what my pet Skye Terrier called Hamish hates.. I think it may had been Canned Dog Food. He preferred the fresh, home made dog food.
  • If you were asked to name a street, what would you call it? The Road Street.
